Nursing in public is a Jewish act. I love it!

In an article from JWeekly.com - Nursing in public isn’t just convenient — it’s a holy act.

Excellent article...and I love her Jewish resources. Feeding a baby is not a private act..it's natural and necessary. So, isn't it a pity when society makes it shameful?

Couldn't have said it better myself.

LOVED finding this article. Ellen Doliner used to suggest, each Friday, that if I felt the need to nurse Lena in the sanctuary, I should at least move to the back of the room. I always felt it was most appropriate to offer my breast to my child in God's house - that a plastic bottle would be more offensive...thank you.

Chana, I so completely agree with you! In fact, for my final paper in a Talmud class last year, I actually wrote a responsa on why women should be allowed to nurse in the sanctuary. None of the reasons why not make any sense to me!
