And tomorrow they're predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow. Sarah has promised to take us both sledding/skiing this winter... neither Jonathan nor I have gone, so it looks to be fun. Just cold. Yes, I still have thin California blood.

Sledding sounds like fun! Anything you can do sitting down appeals to me, even in below-freezing temperatures!!!! Let's face it...
The Midwest's winter is an extra challenge for native Californians. Thermal underwear and rosy cheeks!!

I second the thermal underwear - its my best friend from Oct to April! Sledding is fun, skiing is exhausting (well, cross-country), and, you'll be finding loads of ways to entertain yourself indoors. You're about to find out just how pasty you can be! BTW, moving in winter blows - too late now, huh!?!

When we lived in Pleasant Ridge, there was an empty lot two doors down from us with a slight incline that the kids referred to as the "sledding hill" We had short plastic tobagan type sleds that we would ride down the slope.
Last winter one of Caleb's friends took him to the mountains to go sledding. Unfortunately the sled didn't make it home - I guess it decided it didn't want to sit in the garage for another 6 years and loosed itself from the top of the car.
